歌剧《猫》(全剧)---韦伯

公演长达21年将近9千场演出的音乐剧《猫》，曾以11种不同的语言，在26个国家搬上舞台，距离首度公演1981年整整21年。音乐剧《猫》原本是作曲家安德鲁·劳埃德·韦伯为一个音乐节创作的节目，故事取材于著名诗人埃利奥特的诗作《老鼠讲讲世上的猫》，后来艾略特夫人在诗人去世后向韦伯提供了一些诗人未公开的文件和信件，遂成为今天音乐剧《猫》的剧本。21年来，《猫》一直深受世界各国观众的热情喜爱，堪称20世纪音乐剧的典范，其中的一首《回忆》更是脍炙人口。


第一幕


　　午夜， 人行道上没有声响。


　　……直到第一只洁里珂猫的到来。接着，一只一只的猫儿出现在废物堆积场的各个角落。今夜是一年一度的洁里珂舞会，所有的猫儿们都在这里汇集，快节奏的音乐很快地冲斥整个舞台，整个剧场。所有的猫儿随着音乐舞蹈歌唱。在歌声中他们演译出洁里柯猫引以为傲的特色：“我们能在空中舞蹈，像高空秋千，我们能翻双筋斗，在轮胎上弹跳”。因为人们(观众)出现在猫儿们的天地，猫儿们起先对入到它们领地者心存厌恶和怀疑，但是很快地他们，接受了陌生人的观察，并且向他们讲述了猫儿的三个名字：一种是家里的日常称呼，一种是有尊严的独特名字，另一个则是只有猫儿自己才能知晓的秘称。


　　纯洁的白猫Victoria表演了一首独舞，象徵着一场舞会的正式开始。强健的灰猫 Munkustrap 是猫族首领 Old Deuteronomy 不在时的管事人，也是小猫的守护者。在故事里他充当旁白的作用，给幼猫(及观众)讲述洁里珂的规矩，并介绍其它的猫上场。Munkustrap给小猫解释了洁里珂舞会的意义。这个一年一度的月圆之夜，是只有猫类才能体会它的魔力的，而且,他们一族的首领Old Deuteronomy也将会在黎明到来之前，从族里选出一只猫来，送上云外之路(Heavy Side Layer），从而获得重生。因此，在这个舞会上，各种各样的猫儿们都要登场介绍自己，希望能去美妙幸福云外之路。接下来Munkustrap介绍了Jenny Any Dots，她对待所有的小猫都亲切慈爱好像老妈妈一样。然后摇滚猫Rum Tum Tugger自己上场介绍自己。Tugger是一只被他的人类家庭宠坏了的好奇的猫，他也最喜欢所有母猫们对他的迷恋。


　　很久没有出现在废物堆放场的魅美的猫，Grizabella出现了，可是她现在又老又丑又脏。因为她年轻时背叛了洁里珂猫，离开猫族到外面的世界里闯荡，尝尽了冷酷和辛酸。现在Grizabella疲惫不堪，独自一个人回来。可是所有的猫儿不原谅她，并把她赶走。Grizabella于是悄悄躲在舞台的角落里。Bustopher Jones在JennyAnyDots的歌声中出场，这个爱吃的肥猫是让所有同类骄傲的贵族猫。然后是两只小偷猫，Mongojerry和Rumpleteazer 表演了歌曲和杂技般花哨的舞蹈。在他们的歌曲结束后，Old Deuteronomy出现了！大家向老首领表示了敬意之后，Munkustrap为他组织了一个很滑稽的舞蹈，逗得大家哈哈大笑。之后，随着舞会高潮的到达，所有的猫儿加入了歌舞，《猫》的主旋律再次响起。 Grizabella再次回到舞台中心，猫儿依然不肯原谅她，这时 Grizabella唱出了动人心漩的歌《记忆》，Old Deuteronomy同情地注视着心碎的Grizabella再次下场。

他们相安无事的过了将近一周

那可真是段漫长的时光）

话说有条大警犬很久都一反常态的
温顺又听话――
我不知道原因，但多数人说
他曾经遛进惠灵顿军火库
喝了一杯――

街上一切太平，这时
一只京巴狗和一只普里柯狗碰巧相遇
他们并未进攻或者干脆后退
而是相互对视，摩拳擦掌
然后就开始了……

他们就

虽然人们会说，
他们不喜欢英国的普里柯狗
他们喜欢奇怪的中国京巴
我还是要往下说
那些听到叫声的京巴狗
一些跳出窗子, 一些钻出大门
绝对得有十二只,可能有二十只呢

然后他们
用他们奇怪的中国京巴叫声
开始低沉呜呜乱叫
然而乱作一团的吠叫却正是
普里柯狗所要的
因为普里柯狗是深沉的约克郡野狗

那些狗，什么样的都有
爱尔兰的，威尔士的，丹麦的；
俄罗斯的，荷兰的，达尔马希亚的；
甚至有中国的，西班牙的；
狮子狗, 普里柯狗，阿尔萨斯狼狗；
还有拖着锁链的大训犬

因此，他们调整好笛子走上街（或译：他们清好嗓子走上街）
来到前线开始吹奏（或译：对着京巴狗开始吠叫）
这时京巴狗和普里柯狗开始互相对着
大声狂叫
阳台上跳出一群，房顶上跳下一伙
跟着喧闹的队伍
开始……

当这些勇士们聚集在一起时
交通几尽瘫痪，地铁站人满为患
一些街邻开始惊慌失措
有人还拨通了消防队

忽然，从地下室中
踱着方步走来了――伟大的兰帕斯猫
他的眼睛好像火球般闪光，
他打了个哈欠，令人震惊的大哈欠；
他朝四下望时
样子比谁都凶猛

（扮演兰帕的头发直立）
（蒙可无奈的说出：或多毛！）

他闪光的眼睛和他的哈欠
就会令京巴和普里柯们退避三舍
他看看天空，再使劲跳一下――
就足以让那些狗抱头鼠窜
唉！等那条警犬缓过神儿来
街上恐怕连只狗影子都找不到喽！
