Sarah McLachlan是加拿大最受欢迎的摇滚女歌星之一，自从80年代出道以来，她就一直以其独特的音乐风格以及不随波逐流的创作态度，成为了一名非常受歌迷喜爱并且在商业上和评论界都非常成功的艺术家，她的亲切，热情，喜怒无常的极富情绪化的演唱风格也在当今流行音乐界独树一帜，这也成了Sarah McLachlan的一个商标，而她的名气早已穿透了加拿大，美国，以及英国.

Sarah McLachlan最脍炙人口的歌曲当属电影《City Of Angel》主题曲Angel，当时因为歌曲搭配着电影剧情造成全球轰动。这首Angel在台湾先后有林凡及李圣杰翻唱，而擅长翻唱的Westlife也翻唱Angel，足见Angel的经典程度。不过，最让人津津乐道的是，披头四大老Paul McCartney 99年曾因为现场聆听Sarah McLachlan演唱这首歌曲而泪流满面，原来当时他想起了已逝爱妻琳达，Sarah McLachlan的歌声给了他最多的感动。
