rascal flatts（流氓弗拉德）由来自哥伦布的gary levox、jay demarcus and joe don rooney三名成员组成，是一个乡村音乐风格的乐队,他们以演唱和谐而闻名。

在他们出道早期，传统乡村音乐人批评这个三人组合，称他的音乐太稚嫩并带有流行乐的影子。jay demarcus说：“他们认为我们就像是乡村音乐界中的‘后街男孩’或者是n sync” 。然而乐迷和乡村电台却非常支持他们，2000年rascal flatts的首张专辑上市就卖出100万张。而这三个小伙子第二张专辑《melt》的销量则又比第一张的销量数字翻了一倍，并为他们带来了2002年度乡村音乐协会大奖的新人奖。2003年rascal flatts获得了乡村音乐年度大奖的年度组合奖，2004也是他们再次蝉联该类别的奖项。

乐队几次赢得乡村音乐大奖，还多次在美国公告牌杂志上成为热门人物，他们的音乐具有很强的感染力，音乐宽广自由、旋律流畅富有灵气、歌声明丽清新。rascal flatts将流行音乐、乡村音乐、摇滚音乐结合，主唱gary lerox的嗓音高亢嘹亮，清新自然，但又不失华丽、柔美。尤其是他那富有装饰性的颤音与鼻音，让他们的音乐锦上添花。他们乐曲配器丰富，除了乡村音乐常有的吉他、班卓琴和小提琴，还加入了电吉他、电子合成器、电贝斯、架子鼓、交响乐等等，所以音乐非常丰富饱满。
