My way was lost, my mind conquered by fear

The forest dark imprisoned me within it,

my only light a waning moon.

I stumbled through the labyrinth of trees,

and I knew that this place would be my tomb.

When suddenly a light cut through the void
突然间一道光亮划破永夜
from the distant wooded depths,
从那遥远的森林深处
and it harkened hope that in this place of misery
它为这凄凉之地带来希望
my end would not be met.
它让我没有迎来末日
My feet found haste, and towards the light I flew.
我的脚飞速向光亮奔去
Within the hour I arrived.
很快我到达了那里
And found I there, to my great surprise,
这时，眼前的一使我喜悦
a clearing with a fire burning bright.
那是一堆燃烧的篝火
And by that fire sat a man

with flowing beard and hooded cloak.
他胡须飘动，身穿斗篷
He turned way with warming smile,
他转过身，向我微笑
and unto me the hermit spoke:
像个隐士一样对我说道：

“疲惫的旅人，为何你的心如此不安？
Your heart is turbid, your face is pale.
你的心很浑浊，脸很苍白
Come! Come warm yourself among the logs,
